I always find Garrett's Desert Inn to be an affordable place to stay when time is not planned. My stay at this location affords me proximity to the city and local restaurants and the hotel has the basic needs of any lodger.
Based on the price they're are no comments.
It was very dirty and paying $8 a day for parking was ridiculous. The parking lot was almost empty and no guest should have to pay for parking
It is just what it is: an outdated old motel but very well located. Improved replaced mattresses would be nice however.
Uncomfortable beds/pillows; run-down lobby; ugly parking lot; lack of electrical outlets in room; old carpeting.
Dirty room clogged sink dilapidated facility rude staff hidden fees.
Friendly staff and close to plaza.
Needs refrigerators in the rooms.
The location near Santa Fe's plaza.
Located at the heart of old Santa Fe; quiet and comfortable rooms
Excellent location. One block from the Loretto Chapelle and three blocks from the main plaza and shopping area. The price that we obtained through Booked.net was a real bargain. We will definitely stay there during our next visit to Santa Fe.
Idéal location .
Too many different kinds of taxes tagged to room price ...
Garrett's Desert Inn is located in downtown Santa Fe which is a premium spot but the price was very reasonable. It was wonderful to be able to walk everywhere and not to have to deal with driving and parking issues. It also had a very nice pool. The maids did a great job cleaning the room on a daily basis.
The most annoying thing about our stay had to do with the quality of the beds. There was something wrong with the mattresses and/or box springs, especially on one of the beds. Every time someone rolled over in their sleep the noise produced was truly astounding and would awaken the other occupants of the room. It compromised the sleep of everyone in the group.
the convenience of the restaurant for my mother, who uses a walker. the location where I could take a walk in the evening and look at lovely old town Santa Fe.
The staff, when checking in, admitted they didn't look at the special requirements on my reservation, and put my mother (who uses a walker and cannot climb stairs) in a second floor room. Before they would change it, they made me show them the copy of the booking I had with me to "prove" I'd asked for a first floor room. They were rude and uncaring. Once I showed them, they were a little nicer but made me feel they were doing me a huge favor by finding a first floor room for us.
This hotel has the best location of any budget hotel in the Santa Fe area. The rooms are clean and comfortable. You will save the agrivation of finding parking in this historic nm town.
The could have set up a small continental breakfast with juice and coffee.
I loved the location just 2 blocks from the Plaza & all the shops. It was clean, the staff was friendly, helpful & efficient. When the A/C in our room was not keeping us cool, a maintenance man was there in less than 3 minutes. They helped us move to a different room with a new A/C unit that kept us very comfortable even tho' it was almost 100* outside! The room was clean & comfortable. It was a good value for what I paid for it.
The only thing I would change would be the desk in the lobby where you check in. It is very high almost as if they are afraid a guest will attack them. I am only 5 ft tall & I could not see over it. It made the lobby seem a little un-welcoming & for me, it was just difficult for them to see that I was standing there. I kinda had to wave my hand to get someone's attention!
Liked location breakfast cafe
Said free parking for guests on sign, but charged $ 8 per night to park
